About Us
Making a difference in the lives of our clients, team members and community is part of our culture at Quicken Loans.
"Do the Right Thing" includes doing the right thing in our community! Did you know Quicken Loans contributes financially to many community organizations? Or that our team members frequently volunteer to help those who are less fortunate?
Your Quicken Loans Community DIFF Team helps coordinate these activities. Last year our company donated more than $1 million to 250 non-profits and charitable organizations throughout southeast Michigan and northeast Ohio; and we’re now involved in our Arizona community. Our team members volunteered thousands of hours at area food banks, soup kitchens, hospitals and in support of fund-raisers like the March of Dimes, Red Cross and the Tammy Z Fund at the Karmanos Cancer Institute.

YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit
The YMCA builds spirit, mind and body. This focus on the whole person means that there is more than one aspect to each of their programs.
Bill Emerson is personally committed to being the DIFF in the community through the YMCA. His support allows children of low-income families to receive scholarships to attend YMCA summer camps. Thanks to Bill, and sponsorships from Rock Financial/Quicken Loans, we are able to send kids to camp in Livonia, Detroit, Pontiac and Farmington Hills. Rock Financial Junior Achievement (JA) Finance Park
Rock Financial is the lead sponsor for this program that teaches area school children about money and finance. The students learn about saving, investing, budgeting, stocks and bonds, and mortgages. Then the children put their new found knowledge to practice when they visit Finance Park in downtown Detroit. Upon arrival, each student is assigned a scenario describing their career, salary and number of children. The students create a monthly budget. Here’s the catch: the students must visit the “storefronts” in Finance Park that include a Rock Financial branch, bank, car insurance and medical insurance firms, home builder, car dealership, grocery store and shopping mall. They must make 10 financial transactions yet live within the means of their budget. The kids make real-world decisions about what they can and can't afford.

Bizdom U
This entrepreneurial academy created by our Chairman and Founder Dan Gilbert launched in Detroit in January 2007. The two-year program is preparing the "Green Berets” of entrepreneurship! Students learn everything about creating and operating a business. As they near the end of the program, they will develop a business to be located within the city of Detroit and receive start up funding from a Bizdom U fund in amounts ranging from $25,000 to $500,000, depending on the business. Bizdom U will maintain a share of the business, with portions of the revenue returning to Bizdom U to fund future businesses. As a result, Bizdom will be self-sustaining. As the students’ businesses grow, they will create new jobs and growth for the City of Detroit.

Southeastern Michigan Red Cross
We received the Corporate Heroes award from the Southeastern Michigan Red Cross for our community outreach efforts.
We partner with the Red Cross in many ways, including the Red Cross Home Team, which provides relief for victims of house fires. Each year, our “Blanket Days” collects hundreds of blankets during the harsh winter months for 93 shelters throughout southeastern Michigan. Our commitment to blood drives and team member training in first aid and CPR allows us to be well prepared for emergencies. We also raised more than $206,000 for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Gleaners Food Bank
Gleaners is a vital link between available food and those who need it most. Local and national producers have surplus food that may otherwise go to waste because they lack a way to efficiently bring it to market. Gleaners collects, warehouses and repacks many millions of pounds of food and distributes it to 300 local member agencies , such as area food banks.
This year, our team members collected an equivalent of 119,076 meals and volunteered hundreds of hours at Gleaners!
